With the coming of Christmas I find delight in writing
the good old days at school. Pleasant childhood Memories haunt with the advent
of December. The school I studied would
go in celebration to Welcome Christmas.
Christ Mom Chrischild game is one of the highlighted event in our
school.Every class with its teachers
and students participate in the event. All
the names of the students and teachers would be written on a piece of paper and
mixed up. Every individual pick one piece of paper from it. The name we pick up
is the our Christ child and we act as
Christ mother and the whole show goes without revealing the identity of Christ child
or Christ mother.
From the following day, it’s the duty to take of their
Chrischild by giving gifts and flowers. The game goes like
hide and seek. Usually bright colored roses
would be seen adorning every child. Its a lot of
fun everyday from morn til the school ends for the day.
On the last day of Half Yearly Exam, when the school closes for Christmas, the class
assembles with the teachers.Presents, flowers and beautifully decorated gift
packs are given to their Christ Child. On that day, every Christ Child would know their Christ
Mother.
I do remember my Christ child, my Physics teacher in
Class Eleven. It still remains evergreen
in my heart and cherish it for the years to come..The best part of it doesn’t end
here.Traditions leave a moral behind. It paved way to build and inculcate a
feeling of unity and brotherhood
regardless of caste, creed and religion, and to shed our ego and pride.
Childhood is a
beautiful gift of God. As a child I was
given the best and sweet memories to recollect .So, dear educators and parents,In
the race for marks and grade, don’t miss to give our children the happiness and
sweet memories we once cherished. We all had half yearly exams, and there were
rankings, inspite, we had all the fun. The school churned Doctors, Engineers,
IAS officers etc.etc and it also gave good old memories.
I really pity the future generations would glance old school memories as animated graphic stories of Christ Child.
